At Lunar Strategy we have a remote-first policy, which means that everyone in the company can work from wherever they want in the world. We want to offer our workers the freedom of creating their own work environment because we believe it lays the grounds for long-term effectiveness and being able to better help our clients. We currently have people working from Sweden, Germany, Portugal and Spain.
The Lunar Strategy team of seven people are working from different coworking spaces or home offices around the world. Sometimes a few of us team up in Lisbon, Portugal, at coworking spaces where we discuss strategies and new ways of helping and working with our clients.
We all have different sources of information when it comes to remote and travel tips. These are the websites and blogs that people in our team read for inspiration and to learn about new tips and tricks for working remotely.
We have created a guide with our seven favorite remote work blogs and websites that can help you find inspiration and tips for working remotely effectively.
Remote TribeLife
This is a website where Lunar Strategy has been previously mentioned in an article about structuring our taxes in Madeira.
The founder of the publication is Andrew Williams. Remote life and working from wherever you want in the world is a dream-life according to many. Being your own boss and being able to travel the world with work. Andrew's goal is to inspire the readers to give up the rat race and instead build a business or work remotely while exploring the world.
Nomad Capitalist
Nomad Capitalist got us hooked immediately. The site differs from the other websites within remote-working because they focus specifically on taxes. Their goal is to help remote workers going live wherever they are treated the best. This means; most freedom, best tax regulations and safe places to live in.
Digital Nomad World
The Digital Nomad World offers great inspiration for many remote workers. The platform was created by digital nomads for digital nomads. As a remote worker with less experience you can here find the extensive city guides written by fellow remote workers. You will find everything you need right here - from recommended online courses to remote job offers, and of course, tips from other digital nomads.
WhereUare
Work from home, or, why not work from abroad? This is what Robin Söderström is working on. He started Where U Are in 2017 and has ever since worked full-time helping companies build remote teams.
On their blog they write about remote workers and tips on how organisations can hire people remotely and help people find remote work themselves. Great source of inspiration!
Green Mochila
Green Mochila is great for exploring the world and helping the environment at the same time. They offer tips on incentives and advice to thread the less-known paths, and for a more sustainable way to travel. Less airplane travel, less plastic, and more sustainable kind of pleasure.
The Digital Nomad Asia
Digital Nomad Asia offers great tips on how you can get started with working remotely in Asia. They help with checklists and tools that you can use to make the transition of working remote easier.
Offbeat Escapades
Offbeat Escapades is a great alternative for those who prefer being away from the crowd, doing things on a conscious budget, and finding magical untouched spots even in the most famous places. Now you may be wondering, how did we, from opposite sides of the world, meet and start our travel and van life journey? Well, we are prepared to answer that!
These past few years have given many people a unique opportunity to start working remotely. When we as people are happy with our work situation, is when most of us will do our best work and hence be able to give the most value to our clients or the companies we work for.
We hope that this guide will inspire you to work remotely, find employees remotely, and new places to explore.
